NEWFELPRO - Towards an European Criminal Procedure: Integration at the Expense of Human Rights

Zlata Đurđević je redoviti profesor na Pravnom fakultetu Sveučilišta u Zagrebu u području kaznenog postupovnog prava, ljudskih prava, europskog i međunarodnog kaznenog zakona i psihijatrijskog prava. Diplomirala je kazneno pravo i doktorirala na Sveučilištu u Zagrebu, a magistrirala kriminologiju na Sveučilištu u Cambridgeu. Zamjenica je glavnog tajnika i članica Međunarodne udruge kaznenog zakona (AIDP) i predsjednica Hrvatskog udruženja kriminalističkih znanosti i praksie Napisala je preko 50 publikacija i bila prisutna na više od 70 domaćih i međunarodnih konferencija. Također, kao NEWFELPRO stipendistica je dvije godine dvije godine implementirala svoje istraživanje na Yale Law School.

Njezin NEWFELPRO projekt naziva Towards an European Criminal Procedure: Integration at the Expense of Human Rights (EuroCrimPro) ima za cilj ispitati integraciju europskog kaznenog postupka kroz kriterije ljudskih prava. Usklađivanje nacionalnog kaznenog postupka u EU intenziviralo se nakon Lisabonskog ugovora, zbog nadnacionalnih zakonodavnih ovlasti EU na području kaznenog postupka. EU intenzivno koristi ovu moć, usvajajući do početka 2014. osam direktiva vezanih uz kazneni postupak i predlažući osnivanje Europskog državnog odvjetništva. Projekt uključuje procjenu hipoteze da integracija europskih kaznenopravnih sustava stvara nedostatnost u zaštiti visokog predstavnika unutar sustava kaznenog pravosuđa. Ovaj projekt provodi normativne, empirijske i komparativne pristupe koji se usredotočuju na američki federalni kazneni postupak. Poseban će cilj biti uspostavljanje usporedbe američke i europske integracije sustava kaznenog pravosuđa sa stajališta ljudskih prava.
