A workshop on the new international fellowship mobility program for experienced researchers NEWFELPRO took place at the University of Rijeka on 23 May 2013. After the introduction by Ms Maja Skočanić from the Centre for EU projects, a presentation and discussion about the NEWFELPRO project, application procedures, project documentation and evaluation criteria was conducted by Aleksandra Čolić Kovač and Damir Šoh from MSES. Dr Robert Vianello from the Ruđer Bošković Institute in Zagreb, multiple Marie Curie fellow, presented his personal experiences related to the Marie Curie application process and his research conducted abroad.
Thirty-three participants attended the workshop. Participants were mostly from the University of Rijeka (Faculty of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Economy, Faculty of Teacher Education, School of Medicine, Department of Mathematics, Department for Physics, Department of Biotechnology, Centre for Advanced Studies, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Maritime Studies and Faculty of Law), as well as from the Clinical Medical Centre Rijeka and Science and Technology Park Rijeka. Also, members of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management from Opatija and representatives of the Croatian Science Foundation were present at the workshop.
Participants were informed about the project documentation and application procedure. Participants showed the greatest interest for the structure of application forms, target groups of particular fellowship schemes and necessary requirements, types of eligible host institutions, role of the senior tutor, financial structure of the project proposals and the timeframe of the evaluation process.
The next NEWFELPRO workshop will be held at the University of Split on 29 May 2013 at 12:00 CET in the premises of the University Library, Ruđera Boškovića 31.
