SECOND CALL FOR PROPOSALS IS CLOSED

A total of 91 project proposals have been submitted under the second call for proposals, and they will compete for predicted 35 fellowships. From the total number of submitted project proposals, 58 project proposals were submitted by experienced researchers, while 33 projects were submitted by senior researchers. Distribution of research proposals based on the research experience shows slightly stronger interest among experienced researchers for developing their research careers through the project NEWFELPRO in the years ahead.

Through the outgoing fellowship scheme a total of 63 project proposals were submitted, and through the incoming fellowship scheme a total of 23 project proposals were submitted. The most challenging of all fellowship schemes, the reintegration scheme, managed to attract and motivate Croatian researchers from Australia, Canada and USA to apply with a total of five project proposals. In the incoming scheme, project proposals came from FYR Macedonia, Romania, Poland, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Russian Federation, Italy, Germany, Spain, France, United Kingdom, Iceland, India, China, Egypt and Morocco. On the other hand, applicants to the outgoing scheme chose destination countries such as Slovenia, Hungary, Poland, Greece, Italy, Austria, France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, United Kingdom, Japan, USA, Canada and Australia. Project proposals submitted under the Second Call include counties from five continents, thus creating geographic diversity which bears witness to a great interest of foreign researchers and international institutions to cooperate with Croatian researchers and develop their projects in Croatia.

The exact number of project proposals that will be included in the evaluation process will be known after the technical eligibility check and official confirmation of the NEWFELPRO Selection Committee during the third week of March 2014.
