Tomaš Kliment
Tomáš Kliment is a NEWFELPRO's experienced researcher who will finish his two year long project titled "Crosswalking the layers of geospatial information resources to enable a borderless geospatial web (BOLEGWEB)" in October this year. Dr. Kliment, who holds a PhD in geodesy and geoinformatics, is conducting his research under the guidance of Professor Vlade Cetla at the Faculty of Geodesy of the University of Zagreb.
The aim of his research is to implement a crosswalk to bridge the mainstream web with spatial data infrastructure (SDI) to enrich its information extent. A public global wide and user friendly portal of Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) resources available on the web ensures and enhances the use of geospatial information (GI) within a multidisciplinary context and bridges the geospatial web from the end-user perspective, thus opens its borders to everybody.
Throughout his project he held a presentation of his research and results at the World Geospatial Forum – INSPIRE in Lisboa (Portugal), at International Scientific Geoconference SGEM in Albena (Bulgaria), at IGARSS in Milano (Italy), at GIT, ASIT and ECTQ in 2015 and at the Earth Observation Open Science 2.0. He also participated at the EUROCART 2015 organized by The International Cartographic Association (ICA) and the Vienna University of Technology.
Also, he participated in a training "Online training Shedding Light on INSPIRE Conformity“ and he presented his project within the DEMLAS (Development of multipurpose land administration system) project. He participated at the HACKATHONS Danube Open (Geo) Data Hackaton and Developers' Workshops in Bratislava (Slovakia) and at the na Baltic Open (Geo) Hackaton in Riga (Latvia).
His two author and two coauthor works were published in a journals of SGEM conference. His work was published in the proceedings of the IGARSS conference which was also submitted for publishing in Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing. He also autored a work in proceedings of the ECTQ conference and is a coauthor of the chapter „Volunteered Geographic Information and Spatial Dana Infrastructures to promote s-Low resources: the case study of the Orti di Bergamo smart application“ within the book Centrality of Territories (published by Bergamo University Press).
In addition, he published following works:

His paper submitted for ICA conference and selected to be extend and published in Springer book series Lecture Notes in Geoinformation and Cartography. The book is foreseen to be published 2017. Manuscript submitted to the Joint Workshop and Annual Meeting on Crowdsourcing of Land Information on Malta was selected to be published in the journal Survey Review with an impact factor. The issue is foreseen to be published in September 2016. He will also present his results at the INSPIRE 2016 conference. You can find more information on his project and work on project's official webpage.
He participated in Researcher's Night in 2015 where he presented his project and NEWFLEPRO and was a co-organizer of the Summer GIS School in Nitra where he held a lecture for twenty students from Slovakia and Poland.
